Robin stared out the window as she wrapped her hands around the mug, sighing as the steam rolled past her face. Outside the wind rattled the windows as rain beat on the roof. She hoped the storm wouldn’t cause a back-up in the septic system again. At least the generator was running, so she wouldn’t lose power. Hopefully Star had called it a day and gone home rather than stay on that stake-out.
A twinge of pain reminded her why she was holding the soup; bad enough to have to deal a migraine headache, one while she was dealing with flu was almost too much to bear. The soup would help both. Taking a sip that she could hardly taste, Robin turned and headed back to bed. Tomorrow’s worries could wait, today she was resting.
