Kris looked at her brother, surprise showing in her eyes. “Really, you’re using primitive technology?”
Paul scooted around and set the device. “They have a damping field, electronics won’t work.”
“I’m faster than you.” She held out her hand.
Paul sighed and stood up, gently putting the striker in her hand. “You’ll only have a minute or so.”
“Then, brother dear, I suggest you start running.”
Kris waited until Paul was out of ear shot and then lit the fuse. She tuned and followed Paul’s foot prints; this was one base that the terrorist wouldn’t be using again.
It’s always amusing (though no longer amazing) just how vulnerable supposedly Advanced Technology is to supposedly primitive methods. It can also be quite alarming to realize just how simple it would be to really muck up the modern world… with a whole lot of not much.
